Let Builders Build: Driving Visibility, Engagement and Policy Action

Sinclair Agency set out to elevate public understanding of the Kansas City region’s growing housing challenges and clarify how outdated policies, excessive fees, and regulatory delays contribute to rising costs for families.

The Let Builders Build campaign was designed to position builders as credible voices to lead the conversation. Through a phased messaging framework that moved audiences from awareness to urgency to action, the campaign aimed to build visibility around the issue, strengthen community understanding, and support momentum toward policy conversations focused on enabling more housing to be built.

Timeline

August 2025-December 2025

Our approach began with a research-driven understanding of the region’s housing challenges and the role builders play in shaping public conversation. We identified the need for a clear, credible campaign that could explain how outdated policies, excessive fees, and regulatory delays impact housing affordability for families across Kansas City.

Messaging was developed through a phased framework that built awareness, elevated urgency, and ultimately called for action, allowing the story to unfold intentionally over time.

Let Builders Build successfully brought regulations and other housing problems to the forefront of the public conciseness, leading to conversations and action from voters and policy makers alike. Platte County commissioners unanimously adopted a formal resolution supporting the Let Builders Build movement, while other counties are now taking part in the conversation. Reinforcing the campaign’s role in advancing policy conversations focused on reducing barriers to housing production.
