Our strategic efforts were instrumental in helping Tesla to prevent the North Carolina General Assembly’s attempts at passing legislation that would prohibit the company from conducting car sales online.
Despite lacking resources and political connections, we successfully conveyed Tesla’s narrative, both to the general public and to a unique legislative audience, sharing their story and rationale behind their online sales approach without offending other big industries along the way.

Defining a path forward for consumers with tailored messaging
By deploying a multifaceted approach spanning from targeted public affairs work to a comprehensive statewide PR campaign, we strategically crafted tailored message points to position Tesla as a trailblazer in the automotive industry, offering NC consumers the convenience of purchasing innovative and eco-friendly vehicles without having to go to a dealership.
Shifting perspectives and driving change
As the session progressed, we orchestrated a unique showcase of Tesla’s vehicles at the General Assembly, creating an immersive experience for legislators and North Carolina’s governor.
By giving legislative champions and stakeholders an on-the-ground experience with a Tesla vehicle, the campaign was able to combat stigma, misconceptions and preconceived notions about the first-of-its-kind vehicle.
